This is part of the view from the hotel room at the Pathumwan Princess.
This is me in a typical tourist shot at the Grand Palace, Bangkok.
This is a different angle of the Grand Palace.
This is evidence of Mum on her eating day. She had a great time trying out just about every type of food from the food stalls, but suffered the consequences later.
From left to right: Noi (a teacher at Judy's school), Judy (my sister), Mum and me. We were on the Yok Yor restaurant boat. The views were amazing!
This is Mum and I at Wat (temple) Yai Chaya Mongkol, Ayutthaya (the ancient capital of Thailand).
This is a postcard of the Reclining Buddha at Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol.
Judy and I waited sooo long for Mum to take this photo. See the people waiting in the background! This was also at Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol.
This is the overall view of the building Judy and I went in, from the photo above.
Mum and I at another ruins site in Ayutthaya. I think this one was Wat Phraram.
Here is a postcard of two young monks at the tree with a Buddha head in the roots. The tree is located at Wat Phra Mahathad, Ayutthaya.
Mum and I at Wat Mahathat (I think), Ayutthaya. I remember how I couldn't wait for the photo to be taken as something smelt so bad it there, it was horrible!
This is a photo of the view from the train returning from Ayutthaya to Bangkok. There were a lot of banana plantations.
This is one of the many gold and glittery buildings that made up the Grand Palace, Bangkok.
More gold at the Grand Palace.
Mum and I and a view across some of the rooftops at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Keo (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha).
The Emerald Buddha in the three seasons (from left to right): Hot season, rainy season, and cool season at Wat Phra Keo.
This is one tiny section of a long wall of painting of the story of Thailand in the Grand Palace grounds.
Mum and I at the Grand Palace just before it started pouring down with rain.
Mum and I in front of a fountain at Wat Pho.
This is a postcard of the Reclining Buddha inside Wat Pho.
Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn) at dawn.
Postcard of Wat Arun close up with monks.
Mum and I in front of the Vimanmek Mansion. It is made of teak wood. It was absolutely exquisitely decorated and furnished with both Thai and foreign influences.
This is a postcard of my favourite temple: Wat Benjamabophit.
Me sitting inside Wat Benjamabophit, Bangkok.
This is Mum in the courtyard out the back of Wat Benjamabophit. This was my favourite place to sit. It was so peaceful and full of presence.
This is another view from the courtyard at Wat Benjamabophit.
This is a postcard of some of the buddhas that line the walls of the Wat Benjamabophit courtyard. The one on the left had eyes that looked so real!
Here are Mum and I with a monk who happened to be around in the courtyard of Wat Benjamabophit. I was amused that he had a tattoo. I forget that monks do not have to remain monks for life, and they can become a monk whenever they are ready.
This is me on one of the bridges that lead to a big lawn and the monks sleeping quarters. It's all part of the grounds of Wat Benjamabophit. The little river I was over had a lot of big fish that could be easily seen. They looked something like catfish.
This is one of many rows of monks' sleeping quarters at Wat Benjamabophit.
Here is Mum enjoying the long-tailed boat trip to get to the Bridge over the River Kwai.
Judy, Mum and I at the Bridge over the River Kwai.
We caught the train over the Bridge over the River Kwai and along the Death Railway where thousands of prisoners of war died. This was one of the views of the Thai countryside from the train.
This is another view from the Death Railway train trip.
This is the train we were on for the Death Railway trip. I hung out the window to get this shot!
Here is Judy in one of her Thai silk outfits. With the jacket she wears it to school (she is a teacher), and without the jacket it is suitable for eveningwear.
This is morning assembly at Rajini School, Bangkok - Judy's first Thai school.
Here is Judy (center) cooking at Chai's parents' place.
